As classmates, Jack and Kitty started dating while they were at Brown. After Brown they both went to law school and got married part way through. As successful corporate lawyers, Jack and Kitty balanced career and family, raising two kids (Susie Keane Boshoff '05 and John Keane). Kitty retired as senior vice president and general counsel of Evolution Benefits while Jack retired as executive vice president and general counsel of American Electric Power.
Since graduation, the Keanes have stayed connected with Brown not only through their regular annual gifts but also by interviewing prospective students and planning reunions. As class vice president, Jack helped plan their 50th Reunion.
Their Brown educations were made possible, in part, by the scholarship support they received. Grateful for their educational experience, the Keanes established a gift annuity at Brown that allowed them to transfer appreciated securities, create an income stream in their retirement, and claim a charitable deduction.
The Keanes' generosity will have a lasting impact on future students, faculty, and research at Brown.
